About
Us
The
Board was created by an act of legislation in
1937 to regulate the practice of Barbering. The
Barber Law requires the Board to:
- Regulate the practice of barbering.
- Develop and maintain a curriculum of study.
- Schedule and conduct examinations.
- Register and license applicants.
- Regulate sanitation of barbers, barber schools and establishments.
- Adopt rules and regulations.
- Regulate and enforce the Laws, Rules, and Regulations set forth by the Board.
- Impose fines for violations of regulations of the Board.

Mission |
The
State Board of Barber Examiners shall protect
the health of the public by inspecting the barber
shops in the state and enforcing the barber laws,
by setting the curriculum for the schools and
by testing the applicants who present themselves
for the State Board Exams. |
